Villablanca

Development of a hotel website on WordPress for the Villablanca hotel in Casablanca. Integration of an online booking system and a local SEO strategy to increase direct bookings in Morocco.

Challenge

Villablanca, a charm hotel in Casablanca, faced a dilemma common to all independent Moroccan hospitality: excessive dependence on OTAs (Booking, Expedia, Hotels.com) capturing 15-25% commissions per booking and imposing their pricing rules. Regaining control of customer relationships and margins required a website capable of converting directly.

The challenge was combining premium emotional showcase — seducing from the first second with polished photography, atmosphere, storytelling — and effective operational tool: reliable booking engine, real-time PMS synchronization, seasonal rate and promotion management, secure payment. All multilingual FR/EN/AR to cover local, business, and international tourist clientele.

Solution

I designed a WordPress site on a custom theme, with full-screen immersive design, professional photo galleries, and presentation videos of suites and common areas. Typography and palette were chosen to evoke the venue's hushed elegance without falling into clichéd hospitality codes.

The central integration is a direct booking engine synced with the PMS via API, enabling real-time availability, dynamic pricing, and site-exclusive promo codes. Payment is secured via CMI gateway. I deployed a strong local SEO strategy targeting 'hotel Casablanca', 'boutique hotel Casa', Hotel and LocalBusiness structured data, Google Business Profile integration, and an editorial blog around Casablanca experiences to capture long-tail searches. Mobile performance (Lighthouse > 90) is essential, with 70% of direct bookings happening on smartphones.

Results

The site generated a 30% increase in direct bookings within six months, with a net margin impact: each direct booking represents 15-25% in saved OTA commissions. Project ROI was achieved in under a year.

Google rankings on local queries improved markedly, placing Villablanca on the first page for its target keywords in Casablanca. The Google Business listing is now a major acquisition channel. The hotel regained control of customer relationships, built loyalty via newsletter, and launched exclusive offers that would have been impossible via OTAs.
