Mahali.ma – Moroccan Marketplace Platform

Build for Mahali Group Africa a secure, scalable e-commerce marketplace enabling Moroccan businesses to create and manage their online store in a few clicks. The ambitious project aims to democratise e-commerce for Moroccan SMEs and merchants who have no developer, no technical expertise, and no budget for platforms like Shopify Plus.

Functional requirements are dense: real-time inventory management, sales analytics, end-to-end managed logistics, secure payments — all in a single all-in-one platform available 24/7. The product challenge: combine the ease of use of a consumer-grade store builder with the operational robustness of a national marketplace, capable of absorbing scale without throttling and offering a logistics service that is genuinely operated (not just plugged in via a third-party API).

I designed a multi-vendor marketplace architecture with a dedicated management space per store: real-time inventory, per-product sales analytics, promotion creation, order management and a financial dashboard. Each vendor gets a full view of their business without relying on external support.

Integrated secure payment gateways tailored to the Moroccan market (CMI for card payments, cash on delivery) with automated vendor settlement. The logistics service covers all of Morocco with door-to-door delivery and packaging handled directly by Mahali — a key differentiator versus purely digital platforms.

The onboarding interface was engineered to minimise activation time for new stores: account creation, first product upload, delivery setup and store publication in a few guided steps. The technical architecture is scalable, allowing new features (loyalty programmes, marketing automation, B2B) and new vendor integrations without structural rebuilds. Live at mahali.ma.

Unified management of sales, logistics and payments from a single interface radically simplifies daily life for vendors, who can focus on their product rather than infrastructure. National logistics covering all of Morocco with door-to-door delivery is a strong commercial advantage, especially against competitors that leave delivery to the vendor.
